Sonshine Barn

Nestled in the countryside just minutes from town, Sonshine Barn is a charming and family-owned wedding venue that beautifully blends rustic history with modern comfort. Originally built in 1902, the barn has remained a treasured landmark for generations before being purchased by current owners Denny and Sandy Freeman in 1978. Over the years, the couple lovingly restored and expanded the property, eventually transforming it into a full-service wedding venue in 2016. Additions such as an outdoor ceremony arbor, a large lighted parking area, and a picturesque water fountain enhanced the property while preserving the authentic character of the original century-old barn. Today, Sonshine Barn continues to reflect the warmth, care, and dedication of a family business rooted in more than 60 years of marriage and hospitality.

Sonshine Barn specializes primarily in weddings but also hosts community events and private gatherings throughout the year. The venue can accommodate up to 250 guests inside its beautifully restored barn, which features the original wood and structural details from its 1902 construction while offering modern amenities such as heating and air conditioning. Couples can choose between indoor ceremonies or exchanging vows outdoors beneath the elegant arbor, with staff handling ceremony chair setup to create a stress-free experience. Beyond the barn itself, the property offers extensive overnight accommodations, including a farmhouse that sleeps 24 guests and an additional rental home that sleeps 10 more. Guests also enjoy access to unique amenities such as a luxurious bridal suite, a clubhouse with a basketball court and billiards table, fire pits, spacious gathering areas, and onsite AV equipment supported by a dedicated technology expert.

What truly distinguishes Sonshine Barn is its deeply personalized and supportive planning experience. Each couple is paired with a wedding planner and assistant approximately nine months before the wedding date to guide them through every stage of preparation and ensure no detail is overlooked. On the wedding day, the team remains hands-on to coordinate logistics and keep everything running smoothly so couples can fully enjoy their celebration. As the venue prepares for the 2025 wedding season, the Sonshine Barn team looks forward to welcoming new couples through their annual bridal open house and continuing to create meaningful, memorable experiences in a setting filled with history, heart, and rustic elegance.
